CONTROL CABINET FOR HEAT PUMPS IN LUMBER DRYING.

Our task was performed in the scope of a research project where we collaborated with scientists and experts in thermodynamics. In such projects, in particular, the importance of thermal processes and translating this knowledge to the design and automation engineering is of great significance.

The task scope:

  • Preparing design in the scope of automation,
  • Prefabrication of control and supply cabinets for drying plant devices.
  • Control system based on PLC S7-1200,
  • Development of a control software for operation of heat pumps and gas burner,
  • Preparation of visualization and control based on three KTP700 Basic panels,
  • Gas burner control,
  • Monitoring of temperature and operating parameters of heat pumps and burner in a drying chamber,
  • Controlling operation of two heat pumps,
  • Installation and connection of the device at the end user’s,
  • Communication with the drying plant controller via MODBUS TCP/IP,
  • Control of analogue and bi-positional dampers in ventilation ducts.
  • Implementation and fine tuning of PID regulators for the system operation control.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Our task included engineering of a complete control system for heat pumps and gas burner.
