Design of modernization of a paternoster control system.

Our customer, a company specializing in construction of lifting devices and their equipment, automated warehouse logistics of the end user. Large volume paternosters were one of the existing elements of the user’s warehouse. Our task was to modernize the existing control systems so that they would cooperate with newly designed control system for the devices operating within the automated warehouse. The control system required re-designing of the whole control system for the new one; the main issues we had were:
  • Appropriate dynamics and accuracy of positioning system – servo-drives made by SIEMENS cooperating with SIEMENS process controller.
  • Safety system for the whole machine.
  • Locating sensors on the device so as it could cooperate with automatic warehouse (incorrect shelf positions were detected).
